A group of large white willows at Red Spinners fishing lake, near Hertford, stood within striking distance of the railway line. A previous failure had come close to the track, and extensive decay meant the trees were too dangerous to climb.
Permission to work on the trees was obtained from the railway operator. We used a MEWP alongside a skid steer, digger and chipper to safely dismantle the trees and process all the arisings, stacking the timber neatly on site.
The willows were pollarded back to their historic pollard points, leaving one very relieved customer.
